Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds created in a controlled environment rather than formed underground. They have the same fundamental chemical composition, hardness and optical characteristics as natural diamonds. Their different origin and greater availability often allow buyers to consider a larger carat weight or higher colour and clarity grade within the same budget.

What to Compare
Cut and Light Performance
Cut quality has a major influence on brightness, fire and sparkle. For round diamonds, the grading report may include a formal cut grade. Fancy shapes require closer attention to proportions, symmetry and visible light performance.
Colour and Clarity
The highest grade is not automatically the best value. Many diamonds look colourless and eye-clean without reaching the most expensive grades. We help you compare stones under real viewing conditions.
Carat Weight and Visual Size
Carat measures weight, not face-up dimensions. Two diamonds with the same carat weight can appear different in size because of their proportions and shape.
Independent Grading Report
Review the GIA or IGI report supplied with the selected diamond, where applicable. The report documents characteristics such as measurements, colour, clarity and carat weight and identifies the diamond as laboratory-grown.
Lab-Grown Is Not a Simulant
Moissanite and cubic zirconia can resemble diamonds, but they are different materials. A lab-grown diamond is a diamond; specialized equipment and grading documentation are used to distinguish its origin from a natural diamond.
Choosing a Lab-Grown Engagement Ring
Start with the shape and overall ring style, then compare diamonds that fit the design and budget. A balanced stone with strong light performance will usually make a greater visual difference than paying for grades you cannot see.
